Prime Minister Ünal Üstel visited Yılmazköy and Alayköy, met with the people of the region and made important statements... Referring to the social housing works, Prime Minister Üstel said, “The first foundation of social housing will be laid in Alayköy simultaneously with Güzelyurt.”.
Prime Minister and National Unity Party (UBP) President Ünal Üstel met with the public in Yılmazköy and Alayköy as part of his weekend visits.
UBP Secretary General Oğuzhan Hasipoğlu, Nicosia District Chairman and MP Ahmet Savaşan, Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Minister of Labor and Social Security Sadık Gardiyanoğlu, Gönyeli-Alayköy Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu, MPs Ziya Öztürkler and Alişan Şan and party members accompanied Üstel during his visits. At the public meeting, Ünal Üstel was welcomed with great interest and love.
At the beginning of his speech, Ünal Üstel thanked the people who gave great support to UBP and Hüseyin Amcaoğlu in the local elections for Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality and said, “Our villages are not alone. We come to you every week, we listen to you, we listen to your voices to see what we can do for this country and for you. We are happy to receive the reward of our services and efforts directly from our people in every region we visit.”.
Emphasizing that the Turkish Cypriot people deserve the best of everything, Üstel noted that as soon as they came to government, they resolutely took steps to benefit the people and started to implement the laws waiting on the dusty shelves one by one.
“WE WILL CONTINUE TO WALK ON THE PATH WE KNOW IS RIGHT”
Üstel said, “Since 2008, we have implemented the Municipalities Reform, which was only talked about and always waiting. They told us ‘you will bankrupt the municipalities’. However, we insisted on walking on the path we knew right. Time proved us right. In energy, we are realizing electricity by cable and the interconnected system step by step. We will bring energy as we brought water from the Motherland. The feasibility study will be completed in 4-5 months and we will finally have stable energy. On the other hand, we opened our window to the world with New Ercan. Now we are struggling to lift the embargoes through the law.”.

Stating that they continue to work for young people to live freely on their own land and to own a house in their region, Ünal Üstel said that rural plots in the Alayköy - Yılmazköy region will be redistributed to those who deserve it, and that low-interest loans continue to be offered to young people to complete their unfinished houses or to build their houses on rural plots.

“Legislative work is being completed for the tax-exempt low-cost social housing project for the youth of the region. We will lay one of the first foundations in Alayköy simultaneously with Güzelyurt.”
“WE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT OUR PRODUCERS AND LIVESTOCK BREEDERS”
Emphasizing that they will continue to support producers and animal breeders, Üstel said, “We are creating a rare support. 800 million TL was allocated for incentives in the budget. In the new budget, we made this figure 1 billion 850 million TL.”.
“WE WILL EMBRACE THE WORLD”
Reminding that they have started the process of embracing the Turkish Cypriot people with the world with the support of Motherland Turkey, Üstel said, “There is no such thing as federation talks in Cyprus anymore. There are two sovereign equal states on this island. If it is accepted, we will sit down and talk. In spite of those who belittle the observer membership of the TRNC to the Organization of Turkic States, we will continue to take firm steps towards embracing the world.”.
“PHILISTINE HAS NO HOMELAND LIKE US”
Üstel also said, “Israel's attack on Gaza continues, the world is watching. War crimes are being committed there. The UN and the EU remain spectators. Palestine is experiencing great pain, because unfortunately they have no Motherland Turkey, no guarantor. But we live in peace with the assurance of our Motherland as a result of the 1974 Happy Peace Operation, based on our rights from 1960.’.
Üstel said, “Our concern is the TRNC... Our concern is that this flag flies stronger in the skies. For this, we are working hard in consultation with Motherland Turkey. We are embracing the TRNC with the world step by step. This state was founded by the UBP... We will do whatever it takes to keep it alive, to make it stronger while embracing the world.”.
